A custom platform for simpler publishing

The project started with two needs: helping readers find relevant content and being able to work on articles away from the computer. I replaced WordPress with a platform built from the ground up and took responsibility for the entire project, from identity and information architecture to interface design and code.

I prioritised easy browsing and comfortable reading. Readers can switch between the latest news, popular articles and reviews. Categories, reading times and review scores provide context in the feed. On article pages, a focused reading column and clear distinctions between the headline, introduction and body text create a calm rhythm. On mobile, feed controls sit directly below the header, close to the content.

Through a custom connection to ChatGPT, I can develop article drafts, refine text, and create or attach images that are transferred to the site's media library. I can take an article from draft to publication within the same conversation and also update published articles. Content can also be managed through a separate administration interface designed for mobile use.

I review the content and approve every publication. Editorial guidelines and clear labels for AI-generated and AI-edited images keep responsibility visible when AI is part of the process.

Existing articles, images and metadata were migrated to the new platform, preserving article URLs and redirecting older pages. The result is a complete publishing platform that I use and continue to develop as part of my daily editorial work.
